Welcome to The Meanings of Work, Home, and Success in Rural Canada research study!
This project is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
We are interested in how Canadians without a four-year university degree who are between the ages of 20 - 45, think about “work” and its relationship to other aspects of their lives (such as, "home", "leisure", and "success").
To be eligible to complete this survey, you must:
- Be between 20 - 45 years of age.
- Work in a job (part-time or full-time) that does not require a four-year university degree. This can be in either the public or private sector, and it can be in any industry (e.g. construction, manufacturing, service or retail industry, etc.).
- Work at an organization / company / institution outside of a major metropolitan area (population of less than +100,000) but is still in Ontario, Canada.
Among other questions, you will be asked about your current occupation, whether you enjoy your work, and how you think about the value of work.
You will also be given the opportunity to sign up for a follow-up interview over Zoom (all interview participants will be compensated with a $20.00 Amazon.ca gift card).
The survey should take you around 5 minutes to complete.
You have the right to withdraw at any point.
Unless you decide to sign up for a follow-up interview at the end of the survey, your responses will remain anonymous.
